⚒️ Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited has been featured as Mitchell Stone’s preferred copper small cap on his Ausbiz.com.au appearance today.
Stone – from Invest with Mitch – focused on the Company’s Llahuin Copper-Gold-Moly Project in Chile.
“Probably the most undervalued small cap miner is Southern Hemisphere Mining that trades under the code SUH. They’ve got a fantastic copper project over in Chile called Llahuin. It’s about 280km north of Santiago.
Market cap is tiny, like $25 million. So it’s priced like a real speculative stock, but it’s got a JORC resource of 218,000,000 tonnes at 0.39% copper. Now to put that into perspective, that’s over a billion pounds of copper estimate. So you know the big opportunity there.
So what they’re doing at the moment is they’re just going to keep drilling, and prove up the resource. You’ll see the four targets they got Central, Cerro, Ferro and down the bottom Southern Porphyry as well. Interestingly, the last year FMR Resources wanted a piece of the action so they came in and bought 60% of that Southern Porphyry, a 60% JV. They paid $2.5m cash and to fund that, Mark Creasey came on. So when you’re seeing the big boys come on like this, you know something’s there.
But as I said before, with the market cap of just $25 million, this really is a hidden gem that I feel deserves a lot more attention and there aren’t that many good projects.
There’s so many people trying, but not that many companies have these big porphyry systems that Southern Hemisphere have. And it’s these systems that the big miners are lapping up. You know, this thing at Llahuin, they’ll have a 25 year mine life now.
The goal of this company is kind of what gets me interested. They’re not going from exploration to production, they’re just trying to prove it up and then sell it to a major like BHP or Anglo. And that number could be quite substantial.”
