⚒️ Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited is pleased to report that diamond drilling beneath previously reported RC hole 24LHRC055 (refer ASX announcement dated 28 January 2025) has intersected extensive visible copper mineralisation in the diamond tail of 24LHRD055 at its flagship 100%-owned Llahuin Copper-Gold-Molybdenum Project in Chile.

Southern Hemisphere Executive Chairman, Mark Stowell, commented:

“The visual results from the diamond tail beneath 24LHRC055 are highly encouraging and represent another important step in unlocking the scale potential of the Llahuin system.

The presence of extensive visible copper sulphides below the previously reported RC intercept demonstrates that mineralisation remains open at depth and supports our view that the Cerro-Ferro trend hosts a substantial porphyry copper system with significant expansion potential in line with the previously reported exploration target of 260 to 340Mt*.

While assays will ultimately determine the grade and economic significance of these intersections, the geological characteristics observed in the core are vectoring towards what we need to see at Llahuin.”

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Significant zones of visible copper sulphide mineralisation intersected in the diamond tail extension of drillhole 24LHRD055 at the Company’s 100% owned Llahuin Copper-Gold-Molybdenum Project in Chile
  • Visual logging indicates chalcopyrite-bearing veining and disseminated copper sulphides over broad intervals below previously reported mineralisation in the RC drillhole
  • Diamond drilling has successfully extended the depth of mineralisation beneath hole 24LHRC055, which previously returned 81m @ 0.53% CuEq from 2m, including 48m @ 0.62% CuEq from 30m
  • The observed sulphide and molybdenum mineralisation continues from 84m to 256m downhole which supports the Company’s interpretation of a large, vertically extensive porphyry copper system
  • Core cutting and assay sampling are underway, with laboratory results expected in the next 4-6 weeks
  • Results will assist in targeting further resource growth and defining higher-grade zones within the expanding Cerro-Ferro mineralised corridor

The diamond tail was designed to test the down-dip continuity of mineralisation below the end of the RC hole and to provide critical geological, structural and alteration information. Geological logging has confirmed multiple intervals of visible copper sulphides comprising chalcopyritedominant mineralisation associated with stockwork quartz-sulphide veining and porphyry-style alteration (Figure 2).

Visual estimates may also provide no information about impurities or deleterious physical properties relevant to valuations.

The mineralisation observed in the core occurs well below the previously drilled RC section and demonstrates strong continuity of the copper system at depth. Importantly, the intensity of veining and sulphide mineralisation suggests the Company may be vectoring towards a more strongly mineralised portion of the porphyry system.

Further updates will be provided in due course as assay results and analysis thereof are completed.
