Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited notes the comments made by BHP’s Chief Commercial Officer Vandita Pant at the FT Commodities Asia Summit earlier this month, that the global need for copper and nickel will multiply over the next 30 years.

SUH’s Llahuin Copper-Gold-Moly Project in Chile is a 610,000t CuEq Resource, and is drilling targets for new large copper discoveries (defined by a recent drone mag survey) from November 2021.

As reported by Reuters on 17 November 2021, BHP believes that the global market need for copper may double.

“Some of the modelling that we have done showed that in, let’s say a decarbonised world … the world will need almost double the copper in the next 30 years than in the past 30,” said Vandita Pant, BHP’s Chief Commercial Officer, at the FT Commodities Asia Summit.
