Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited believes it is well placed in the Manganese market after a report in the Wall Street Journal announced ‘China Hones Control Over Manganese, a Rising Star in Battery Metals’.
The article published in May 2021, stated:
China is tightening its grip on the global supply of processed manganese, rattling a range of companies world-wide that depend on the versatile metal—including the planet’s biggest electric-vehicle makers.
China produces more than 90% of the world’s manganese products, ranging from steel-strengthening additives to battery-grade compounds.
Located in northern Chile, the Los Pumas Manganese Project is 100% SUH owned and has a mineral resource estimate of 23.7Mt @ 7.81% Mn and the company this week released an updated overview of its Los Pumas plans – which is aimed at the EV Battery Metals Manganese market.
